Hey folks!
Well, it’s Monday… and for many of you, this is the start of your week!
Today as it turns out, is a special day for me!
It’s Morgie’s Rezday!
I created Morgana Hilra back in 2006 as a replacement for my first avatar which was created in 2003. A friend had asked me to DJ at the opening of a club in Second Life. I was an online radio personality from Flownet Radio, way back in the day, and a fan was the one that asked me to come back. I didn’t want to log on with my first avatar, so I made an ALT. Which if you were around back then, you know it was a little more difficult to have a non “bot” alt, lol but, I made Morgie.
Honestly, I had no idea that when I first left Second Life, for personal reasons, that I would come back and stay for another 12 years… but, here we are, 12 years later, and I am… happy. I am happy that I stayed.
The past 12 years hasn’t always been easy but, I have learned a lot. And I have met many awesome, amazing people. And it keeps getting better.
All in all the last 12 years has been great, and I am truly thankful for all the friends I have made, and all the opportunities that have been given to me.
One day, I hope that I can revisit past losses, and maybe mend broken bridges (I can’t help it. If you know me, you know this is just how I feel. I always need to fix things.) but for now… I am happy that I have the people in my life now, that have stuck through the good times and the bad.
I am honored to have seen Second Life change from the classic “ruth” avatars to these glorious and creative avatars that are now on the grid.
All the amazing changes to the interface, with windlight and mesh and bento… all these great improvements.
All the amazing creators, and having the ability to watch many of them grow.
I really hope that I get to stick around and see what comes next for Second Life in the following years.
This has been a great trip. And I hope that everyone else is just as excited as I am.
