Are you afraid of the dark?

Once upon a time, I would have said yes, to the question above.. however, I have come to find, that in the real world, I am more myself in the dark.

During that time, I do not have to pretend to be someone, or something that I am not.

I can relax, and just be me… which then poses the question..

Am I afraid to be myself? or, Are YOU afraid to be yourself?

And to this one.. I must answer, yes… Unfortunately, sometimes, situations, will arise that make it almost impossible to feel comfortable being just me.. and not what everyone else wishes I were…

It’s easy to tell someone, “just be yourself”, when they are not judged for being “different”… It’s easy to tell people to just be themselves, when the person saying it, is totally comfortable in their own skin, and mind…

All I can suggest to this conundrum  is to take things one day at a time.
Never try to push yourself to be more than you can be in that one moment.. Being yourself, means you need to be confidant in yourself, and not care if others are confident in who you want to be, than who you should be…

I did the photo with a dark simple background just to drill this point home.. I am a simple person, who tries to be what others want me to be but, most of the time.. I just want to be simple, relaxed, and at home.
