For my own protection

“For your own protection”… This is a concept, I never quite “got”… Understood, accepted, listened too.. you know what I mean.

Someone has a problem, likely a mental issue if they end up in a padded room.. and doctors, or in some cases… yes I do know this from experience, foster homes, or group homes, and some school.. feel it would be for the individuals best interest to stick them in a 4×4 room, alone, so they can “work out their frustrations”, or reexamine what made them upset, angry, frustrated, in the first place… Either alone, or with some asshat on the other side of said room, making fun of them, and pestering them to freak out more…

When I was a youngster… we talking, maybe 6 or 7.. our teacher, Mrs Hooey.. I will never forget that name as long as I live.. would put the kids from her special needs class, into an area that was maybe 2×2.. basically, two filing cabinets against the wall, to make a “little private area” for the “problem kids”, to “work out their frustrations, and calm down”….

Before the doctors knew I had Asperger’s… (which would take many years to figure out) I would spend some time in these little spaces… and each time they put me in there, I would have one thought running through my mind….. and my guess is that every single “problem child” out there in the world.. even now, many years later thinks the same thing……..

Read the writing on the wall, how is that for a freaky prophecy?

Haha.. it’s an honest thought.. really..

Alas.. I grew up, and stopped thinking that way… however, like anyone in this world, that has been pushed to their limits.. whether it be with a family member… a friend… an employer.. or, just some random jacka$$ on the street… there is always that little voice in their heads thinking… “Lock me up for my own protections…. but, you better run when I get out……”…
