A “Different” sort of day…

Warning… This is a REVIEW..
So please, read to the end before you make a judgement against me.

Let’s just jump into it, shall we?

Damselfly!

I use to buy hair from there, constantly when I first started SL..
It seemed to be the “in place to be”..
And, at that time (2006/07) it WAS..
However, as time went on and I saw SL changing all around me, Damselfly…. stayed the same…
Now, please don’t get me wrong, for some this is a good thing… however, with texture changes in Second Life, and windlight.. and other changes, Damselfly’s oldies but, goodies.. fell flat.
I found, and so did many others, that when standing infront of other “alpha” textures, that the hair seemed to disappear.
Though this happened with some other hairs, and skirts, this trend was starting to weed out.. so, not seeing any improvement to the Damselfly hair… I stopped buying it.
Now, I am only ONE person out of MILLIONS… but, this was my choice at the time..

Recently, I stumbled upon a photo on flickr, that caused me to stop and take a closer look..

The texture was very natural looking, and “realistic”, so much so, I had to take a look and see where it came from..

DAMSELFLY!

Wow… Ok, so the skeptic in me, HAD to go take a look..
And… It has in deed changed!
I tried on a few demos, not really thinking I would buy any… but, I did…
Two styles… this one, in this photo is my favorite..

The textures are AMAZING..
I tested it, I stood infront of my ALPHA window and the hair no longer disappears, it simply fades just a tad.. you can still see thru it but, it no longer just vanishes..
NOW, it looks like gorgeous hair…
It has amazing movement, and this style here, is awesome.
It is very hard to find a nice, flexi hair in a bleach, or platinum color that doesn’t look… foolish.

TOmmy Fairplay & Shylah Honey, kudos to you for stepping up your game!

I highly suggest that if you were like me, and basically gave up on Damselfly, go take a look..
They have many new styles and even what looks like a retextured older hair, as a gift (could be new, what would i know, i have not been there in a very long time).

The packs include the hair, and a hairbase to match each of the 4 shades in the box, and the hairs are 200L per pack.
Great deal!

Ok, so I don’t know how long this sale is happening but, ROOTS is have a huge sale.. from what I saw, 30-50% off selected items!

I LOVE ROOTS… so, of course I ran over with my blog allowance (TY JACKSON!!) and bought a few things…

Just Groovin..

I am sitting here, at my desk dancing to different mixes on my SAMS, getting ready for my set at Culture Shock today at 2PM – 4PM… you should come if you can!!

Here is my randomness for the day..

There is this totally cute store called, The Bird Next Door..
I first found them on Marketplace… then decided to go check out the store!

Everything is SO LOW COST… not CHEAP.. lol..
I want to emphasize these items are in no way CHEAP..

Skins, shapes, clothing…
It is like, in my opinion, they are charging cost or less for their items and in the long run, likely making a profit in doing so.

I love stores like this..

Check out this sweet eye patch… I love flowers!

This was only, maybe 25L… not bad right.. ok, I can do one better… see my eye? (s).. 5L for a fatpack. (these are [BND] demonic eyes blue)

This top is also from the same store.. it is called Captain Outfit.. not, this is ONLY the top.. but, for the price I think it is still totally worth it!

Truth Hawks, whom i WUVVVVVV lol has yet again, released some amazing hairs, and this is just ONE of them that was released this week!

Truth has been the place I have gotten hair, since I began as Morgana.. and will continue to be one of my top favorite places!

I have been stopped by many ppl asking about my TAIL!

My tail is called, (pera) Tied Unicorn Tail and for those of you that have asked or have been looking for one like it, lol I KNOW YOUR PAIN!!!
I had three ppl looking for it, and my SISTER ended up finding it on Market place and sent it to me as a gift.. so… THANK YOU SARAH!. lol.

Ok.. is that it?? OH.. my shape!

I actually as I have stated in my last blog, broke down and bought a shape, since I tend to make young teen, older child avies..
So, I bought mine from, Veleska Resident.. 100L per shape.
There are no demos.. which sucks (hint hint vel)..
However, I have brought a few ladies over and they seem to like them very much.
PLUS there is MAKE UPS.. and from what I can see, most if not all are under 100L
Which if you have been keeping up on plurk, is a huge pet peeve to me when ppl charge 100+ for a lipstick.
Don’t get me wrong, I know what goes into making them.. but, nowadays you can find a nice skin for 100L ish.. LOL.. so the fact that she is in a nice price range is a plus..
Again I am disappointed in the “customer service” as both myself and my sister tried to reach her, and either she isn’t getting her messages or she is ignoring them. lol
Either way, I still will support her items.. since they rock and she has an inworld group, that my sister says there is a gifty of a cartoon makeup..

keep in mind, if you buy this shape, “V.E.L – Samara Shape” it will not look the same..
I am not use to being over 6′ tall and this one i think was 6’2 so I shortened it to 6′..
and I made the shoulders alil less wide.. but, that is just me making it “mine”..
Everything else is totally Vel’s.

Bad Dolly

When I was little, my school took one of those “class outtings” and we visited, Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital...

The buildings are old, and scary, and any room you enter there is this cold, frigid feeling…
Like, eternal winter….

You know that feeling, when you first open the freeze door, and the cold air bursts out at you??
Well, this place, had that feeling, all the time…

The reason that I bring up this childhood memory is because, a couple days ago, I was messing around on the Market Place, and came across, Liquid Heat “The Asylum” Module – 3D Rendered …
First look.. it scared the crap out of me!!
It reminded me of that “hospital” from when I was a kid..
So, I made a sorta joke on Plurk, that someone should buy it for me, so I could move in asap…

And so someone did..

Epilogue….

I had an interesting time in this skybox..
My family came by to have a look around, and they actually took a hop over to the Second Life location for the Liquid Heat store.
I am super happy to have great friends in SL as well as Plurk. (add me lol)
Many people answered and helped when I described the sort of post I was going for this time.
Ravenlynn, Moggs, and Arwyn, you all rule!
