A Hunting We Will Go!

We are all hunting for something in life.. in this case, I was hunting for the perfect look to share with you!!
What a BLAH day…
After having a particularly hard start to my day yesterday, my mood sorta slipped, and I didn’t post my blog… but,
I saw ONE thing on my friend, Fran’s blog, from a store called BLAH…
And my mood, shifted considerably!
I went, and I concurred that store!!
I fell in love lust with everything… even the stamp on my forehead that seemed to fit all that I was feeling..
HELL! They even have me wearing YELLOW!!!
LMAO. I never wear yellow by choice and I am in love wit the clothing there!
By the end of my shopping trip I was flipping happy again, and ready to blog…
Now, to set the stage for this post, I also need to include my bizarre trip to Mother Goose, a more Asian geared skin store (which i totally love, and will do a future post on), and I met this girl there, and her shape was just too adorkable (my fav word for all), so I told her so, and SHE GAVE IT TOO ME!! lol..
Oh and get this.. I also found out, that the reason her name was sooooo familiar was because, I actually KNOW HER!
Few years ago, we were friends, and random acts of kindness, years later, we reconnect and are friends again!
And thanks to Dancer, we know exactly how we know each other!!
So, I went to her store to take a peek around, so that when I posted this, I could tell you what she has available!

Lately I have been wanting to work on my photo technique.
So, I have enlisted many volunteers from my, PLURK REQUEST, (list not closed yet! and FYI.. I need some male avies to add to the list! STOP BEING SHY!.. And, yes my plurk is private so you will have to add me 
) and I am going to start taking their photos but, FIRST.. I wanted to log on and do some damage control on my inventory, so that on MY side there would be less lag, so I can rez the items I will need for this project.
So, as I was going through my items, I found some cute things..
Some as old as 2007 and some as new as… today, in 2011.. lol..
I am going to play this as a lookbook/show and tell…
I will show you the outfit.. and then tell you where you can find them lol….

This is the item I have chosen to review….
A&A Hair,AKA Alli&Ali Designs reminds me of the OLD Damselfly hair…
When you turn side to side, the hair over lapses, and flickers and disappears.
I went through all of the recent releases and THIS was the ONLY hair that I could get to work long enough to take a photo.
Now, please don’t get me wrong… SOME of the hair from A&A is very pretty.. in photos, with … touch ups. However, I honestly, think.. that if they just maybe, re textured the hairs so that they are less… I am not sure.. Transparent?
I think with a bit of work the hairs would take on a new look, and be more widely accepted.
This one in the photo, I love it… it’s just that the flickering was driving myself and my partner completely insane.
Possibly I will post a video another day to show what I mean.
This is another reason, I send MASS kudos to the owners of Damselfly, for uping the game on high ar hair.
Now, please, do NOT take that as an insult… member’s of the obvious H.A.R club are the following, however not limited too…
Analog Dog… Damselfly.. and A&A….
There are many out there but, some can make their hairs work, and make them worth buying.
All that said, alil improvement and A&A will rock the market.

- I have had this outfit…. for EVER!
I love it still however, I chose to wear another pair of boots as my avatar has changed alot over the years.
This dress comes with a set of fangs & headband & a pair of boots (not shown), with all that I have to do too fit my tiny 5’4 avie into it, it is totally worth it… mind you, all you tall avies.. you have nothing to worry about.

This skin fit perfectly into my mood, and into my post..
So perfect, I had to use it twice!
It is pale.. but, not TOO pale.. and the blood is subtle and not, “unbelievable” .. It could be anything.. a tiny nibble off someone.. or, she bit her lip.. whatever the case, it is perfect… lol I am still wearing it as I write this up!!

Ink’d Up, Just The Truth!
So, yesterday I noticed a flickr friend of mine, Alexandria had this AWESOME tattoo photo up (nsfw lol)..
I NEEDED to know where it was from!
So, I “imed” her inworld and found out this sweet ink is from a store called, Ink’D Up!…
So, you know me, I ran my butt over there and sure enough although, there is a small collection to choose from, the style is exactly what I have been looking for..
There was one I fell in love with, Notorious.. it is a full body, extreme ink tattoo.. I LOVED it.. however, I am a broke SL’er LOL so, I had to look for another one, as I could not afford it.. (it wasn’t alot, I just don’t have much, lol) so, I got the one in this photo called, :Believe: …
I love how vibrant it is…
It also has a design on the back, that isn’t shown in my photo … or theirs.. that my be my only criticism there..
With tattoos with back pieces there should be a photo of that as well..
I know, I am bad, I didn’t add one either LOL.. but, stay tune to my flickr page… you never know what you may see there… *wink wink*

Oh two other things.. 1 – I wish there was a “tattoo” layer for them, and 2 -… now this is a really really important one…

Both of them come with two versions.. one with the bow, and one without.
The bow has many manyyyy choices for colors!
And yes ladies these hairs come in ALL his normally offered colors.
The outfit here normally worn with a jacket, is from a store called “Bitch Tail”… this store is awesome..
Everything (unless otherwise specified) is 98L or less.
This is a HUGE store.
There is clothing, shapes, skins & props..
They cater to men, women, kids….
There are at least a dozen or more lucky chairs in the main room, plus a ton of goodies thru out the store.
The only criticism I can think of… maybe the confusing layout.. as I said, it is a very huge store and I got lost.. many times..
There is a TP Board but, again.. you will see what I mean.
Also, some of the ads take away from the outfits.. I had to look very close to see the quality of the items as the photos were either washed out, or maybe white on white.. and you can’t really see that well.
Now, this does not mean, do not go to the store.. this means, when you go, make sure that you have things turned down, so that you can better see things, and go when you have time to actually look around.
Trust me, it will be fun!
And now, for the recent release from, Filthy!
This is Kate.. now, this is an actual review, so please, read all before getting offended, or upset.. lol.
Kate is a beautiful skin.
I love Filthy skins for the more, youthful yet, alluring feeling, I get from, wearing and photographing them.
Kate is…. definitely a more “mature” looking skin.
It does not fit all shapes, so PLEASE, try a demo.
This is a skin, my mother in sl would love..
Very adult, mysterious and beautiful.
The only issue I have, and I have mentioned this many times in the past, skins 05 and 06… the lips seem… hmm washed out?
I am not sure what I am thinking.. OH I have it..
Matted.. too matted.. they seem to just not have much depth, or shading.. however, I would still recommend this to all my friends. And of course to all the SL moms!
Alexandra is very talented, and has so much to offer at her store.
Clothing, hair, poses, and of course skins!
I really hope that, this review is… satisfactory…

A “Different” sort of day…
Warning… This is a REVIEW..
So please, read to the end before you make a judgement against me.
Let’s just jump into it, shall we?
Damselfly!
I use to buy hair from there, constantly when I first started SL..
It seemed to be the “in place to be”..
And, at that time (2006/07) it WAS..
However, as time went on and I saw SL changing all around me, Damselfly…. stayed the same…
Now, please don’t get me wrong, for some this is a good thing… however, with texture changes in Second Life, and windlight.. and other changes, Damselfly’s oldies but, goodies.. fell flat.
I found, and so did many others, that when standing infront of other “alpha” textures, that the hair seemed to disappear.
Though this happened with some other hairs, and skirts, this trend was starting to weed out.. so, not seeing any improvement to the Damselfly hair… I stopped buying it.
Now, I am only ONE person out of MILLIONS… but, this was my choice at the time..
Recently, I stumbled upon a photo on flickr, that caused me to stop and take a closer look..
The texture was very natural looking, and “realistic”, so much so, I had to take a look and see where it came from..
DAMSELFLY!
Wow… Ok, so the skeptic in me, HAD to go take a look..
And… It has in deed changed!
I tried on a few demos, not really thinking I would buy any… but, I did…
Two styles… this one, in this photo is my favorite..
The textures are AMAZING..
I tested it, I stood infront of my ALPHA window and the hair no longer disappears, it simply fades just a tad.. you can still see thru it but, it no longer just vanishes..
NOW, it looks like gorgeous hair…
It has amazing movement, and this style here, is awesome.
It is very hard to find a nice, flexi hair in a bleach, or platinum color that doesn’t look… foolish.
TOmmy Fairplay & Shylah Honey, kudos to you for stepping up your game!
I highly suggest that if you were like me, and basically gave up on Damselfly, go take a look..
They have many new styles and even what looks like a retextured older hair, as a gift (could be new, what would i know, i have not been there in a very long time).
The packs include the hair, and a hairbase to match each of the 4 shades in the box, and the hairs are 200L per pack.
Great deal!
Now, hopefully people read this, and go have a go at the store!
